Stress!! It’s there to help you….with video

stress

Stress is what you make of it.. It can make or break you..

If you think of all the things that end up stressing you out from one moment to the next, does it always effect you negatively or are you able to make some stressors into fuel to help you be your best?

It may sound crazy but stress can be used as a positive. It doesn’t have to be negative although it may seem that way at first. I mean when you look at what happens when you get stressed, it does resemble adrenaline, which is positive in most situations. Why not decide to let stressful situations be a motivator for positive attitude and emotion!

Yup, I said decide!

You can decide these things. Just like you can control your temper, you can control how you view stress.

There was a woman. Kelly McGonigal on a Ted Talk who mentioned this same idea. I think she really speaks to this idea and carries it home, through her studies and examples.

Either way, I find it empowering to recognize that I have the power to present myself in the best possible light and do it with poise and control. What kinds of differences would you see in your life if you were able to stay at peace during stressful situations and to stay on top of your game, not complain?! wow! what freedom! I mean its tough enough to stay calm when you’re frustrated and overrun, but to have positive action and positive responses be a result of this new found control… I find it freeing.

The impact you can make by taking control of yourself and training yourself to absorb any energy and reflect something strong and positive is enormous!

If you want to think about little big things, like communication… What happens when you pause (when upset) and respond after calming down or even more so, when you think before you speak? You communicate much easier and effectively. Your frustrations are addressed in a such a way that you feel released, but you also haven’t accidentally offended someone, or something similar.

1st, recognize that stress is a natural reaction and it is a primitive reaction to prepare you for action. Stress is your friend if you understand it more.

2nd, keep at it, it will get easier and you will notice a change in your reactions, thoughts, and actions on a positive scale because you are not allowing stress to put you in a stifling place.

3rd, smile at your progress and enjoy life!

Take control of who you want to be and don’t let pesky emotions and circumstances control how you choose to live!

Do you recognize your stressors? Can you see potential in their positives?
